Nakodu Rules

Nakodu is for everyone, so these rules apply everywhere. Each hub can add its own rules on top; you'll find them in the hub's About section.

1. Treat people like people

Disagree as much as you like, but don't harass, bully, threaten or target anyone. No hate based on race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, disability or similar.

2. Keep everyone safe

No threats of violence, no encouraging self-harm, and no content that glorifies violence against real people. If someone is in danger, contact local emergency services.

3. Protect children

Absolutely no content that sexualises minors, in any form. No grooming, and no attempts to contact children for sexual purposes. We remove it, ban the account, and report it to the authorities. See our child safety standards.

4. Respect privacy

Don't share other people's personal information (addresses, phone numbers, private photos, documents) without their permission. Never share intimate images of anyone without their consent.

5. Label adult content

Sexually explicit or graphic content is only allowed in hubs marked 18+, and posts must be marked 18+. Pornography involving real people who haven't consented is never allowed.

6. Be genuine

Don't impersonate people or organisations, don't spread scams, and don't post deliberately misleading information about elections, health, or emergencies.

7. No spam

Don't flood hubs, post the same thing everywhere, manipulate votes, use multiple accounts to get around bans, or post ads where they aren't welcome.

8. Keep it legal

Don't post or ask for illegal content or services, including weapons, drugs, stolen goods, or pirated material.

9. Moderators and hubs

Moderators can set their hub's rules, remove posts and ban people from their hub. They must follow these rules too, and can't use their hub to break them.

What happens if rules are broken

Depending on how serious it is, content can be removed, and accounts can be warned, banned from a hub, or banned from Nakodu. Use Report on any post, comment or account to tell us about a problem.
